Boudoir Album
Posted on February 27, 2010
I ordered a leather album to share my boudoir images with my clients and it came out so beautifully that I just had to share it. It is a flush mount album which means that all of the images are part of the pages themselves and are not merely glued on. The pages are thick and have a small gutter (or space) in the center between the pages that allows the book to lay flat. Because of the gutter, this album is more suited for a simple layout rather than an album with double spread images. If you like a clean look that allows each image to shine on its own page, then this is the album for you.

Coming up on a Milestone
Posted on February 1, 2010
I have been taking pictures of my son Remy on Saturday of every week since he was born. At first, I was hoping to make it to 6 months. My next goal was to make it to one year. In three weeks, we will be at week 100, just four weeks shy of two years. I love looking back at the way my little guy has grown up and how my own skills as photographer have grown right along with him. It is a great record of his life and even though it will be many years until he appreciates it fully, I am happy that this will be there for him to enjoy and possibly even share with his own children some day.
I have the whole collection in a folder on my flickr page if you would like to view it. As you can probably guess by some of the images, my son’s level of cooperation fluctuates from week to week. I have to say, the weeks when he is not interested are my most fun in some ways. Trying to photograph a grumpy almost-two-year-old can be great for honing people and camera skills (baby photojournalism? sure why not!).
These are not fine art images by any means, but they have been a lot of fun to make over the past 97 weeks (so far!). I hope this idea inspires you to take on your own photo project, whether following your children or taking a photo a day for a year, photographing 100 strangers or whatever else you can think of. I’ve been thinking a lot about week 100, I hope it is the first of many 100s to come.
